City Arts & Lectures is on fire this season. On Wednesday, Berkeley native Miranda July sits down with Cal art history professor July Bryan-Wilson to discuss her latest quirky art endeavor It Chooses You. The book is a collection of short stories, interviews, and photographs inspired by PennySaver classified ads that, judgments aside, is quite compelling.

My Morning Jacket, The National, and Iron & Wine
Morrissey's show at the Fox may be sold out, but you can still snag tickets to these three great shows. Expect a smashing double bill at My Morning Jacket —Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings open. Indie faves The National will kill it onstage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, and Iron & Wine will no doubt deliver a mellow show at the Fox.

The Wild Bride
Straight off the English stage, The Wild Bride makes its American debut at Berkeley Rep. Think of it as a visually stunning Alice in Wonderland of adulthood. Adapted and directed by Emma Rice, the story deals with heart breaks, prince charmings, and deals with the devil but still ends with the possibility of happily ever after.
