Mary Roach GULP!
The Washing Post calls her "America's funniest science writer" and this best-selling author lives up to her reputation with the release of her new book GULP!: Adventures of the Alimentary Canal. If you've ever wondered why crunchy food is so delicious or if constipation really killed Elvis, comedic scientist Mary Roach will satisfy your curiousity. She makes three SF appearances this week to discuss and sign her hilariously enlightening book.

Exploratorium Opening Day
The interactive museum is ready for exploration. Join artists, scientists, and creative minds of all ages to welcome the Exploratorium to its new home with a full day of events including hands-on activities, outdoor demonstrations, and a special Indian traditional welcoming design. At night, Pier 15's historic facade is transformed to take you on a digital visual journey through a world of phenomena.

The Lumineers
In 2011, this group of roots revivalist self-recorded an EP, then self-booked their own first tour. Today, you can hardly go anywhere without hearing their down-beat driven folk tunes. The Lumineers make a one-night-only-sold-out appearance in the Bay Area before heading south to Coachella. This show has long been sold out, so check Craigslist to score last minute tickets.

Alonzo King LINES Ballet 30th Anniversary
Even after three decades, Alonzo King LINES Ballet continues to raise the barre. Kicking of its 30th Spring Season, acclaimed choreographer Alonzo King has collaborated with Grammy winning double bassist and composer Edgar Meyer to infuse bluegrass, newgrass, and jazz with dance. The performance will be complete with live musicians, including Edgar Meyer himself, and a set piece designed by Academy Award winning designer Jim Doyle.

Cypress Hill + Snoop Lion
It comes as no surprise that Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dog, comes to SF for the infamous stoner celebration. The LBC dweller knows he has much in common with his Bay Area fans at this time of year. Can't wait to celebrate? Check out the rap-rock quartet Cypress Hill on Friday night to roll into the early hours of the highly anticipated 4/20.
