Tuition includes cask beers and food pairings. 7–9 pm, 563 2nd St.
Tuesday: Lunchtime Outdoor Twister Party

Presented in conjunction with their exhibition Project Mah Jongg, there will be a game cart on Jessie Square Plaza every Tuesday this month. Saturday: Beast Crawl Literary Festival in Oakland
Uptown's third annual free literary crawl features more than 100 writers appearing at some of the Town's best galleries, bars, restaurants, cafés, and storefronts. Each leg of the Beast lasts one hour, and offers as many as a dozen readings to chose from. There’s a half hour break between literary legs for socializing and relocating to a new venue before the next reading begins. Oh, and the event name derives from Pig Latin for Beast. You'll figure it out. 1st leg: 5–6 pm, 2nd leg: 6:30–7:30 pm, 3rd leg: 8–9 pm, 4th leg (+ after party): 9 pm–2 am. Check out the venues page to map your route.
Sunday: Bouchon Yountville's 14th Annual Bastille Day
Bouchon throws a spectacular Bastille Day party, but this year is sure to be extra special, since it's Chef Thomas Keller's 14th year celebrating July 14. In honor of the milestone, they've expanded the party, taking over the entire Edward James Courtyard and the surrounding parking lot. Expect classic French dishes such as tarte flambée and whole-roasted cochon, in addition to merguez, choucroute garnie, crêpes, and select East Coast and West Coast oysters. Euro-snacks include truffle popcorn, macarons, beignets, and Bouchon brownies. House-selected wines from France along with classic French cocktails and beer will all be featured. Sip while you enjoy live music and try to soak Chef Keller and other local personalities in a dunk tank. Tickets can be ordered online in $20, $50, $100, and $200 amounts, redeemable for food, drinks, and activities. Collect your tickets at will call on the day of the event or from the host stand. 12–8 pm, 6540 Washington St., Yountville.
Monday: Bastille Day at the Embarcadero
Next Monday doesn't have to be such a drag if you're down for some revolutionary festivities. On July 14, Embarcadero Center will celebrate Bastille Day with an outdoor summer bash from 4–9 pm. With music by Frenchy le Freak and special guest DJs, bites from the Embarcadero Center, and drinks from Rye on the Road, continue the Independence celebrations in honor of our neighbors across the pond.
