Saturday, July 28: Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit.
Visit the Conservatory of Flowers and celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. Fragrant orange blossoms will perfume the air and boost all visitors’ chances for good fortune and wealth in 2012. For three weeks only, the Conservatory’s Potted Plants Gallery will feature many of the plants considered auspicious and particularly symbolic for the Lunar New Year including pomelo, kumquat, Mandarin oranges, and more. Also on display will be several unusual and aromatic citrus plants from across Asia such as Buddha’s Hand and Rangpur lime. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. @ The Conservatory of Flowers, 100 John F Kennedy Drive.
Sunday, July 29: Learn to Salsa
Ever wanted to twist and twirl around the dancefloor? Well, Tianne Frias (World Salsa Championships Finalist) is here to help you with that dream. She teaches salsa dancing for beginners and intermediates. No experience or partner necessary. The cost is $60 for a four week session and you can register for a class here. @ 5 p.m. 564 Monterey Boulevard.
Sunday, July 29: Watch Some Theatrical Dance
Ballroom with a Twist is a theatrical dance production conceived and choreographed by ‘Dancing With the Stars’ dancer, Louis van Amstel. Featuring a frenzy of sizzling performances by some of your favorite performers, as well as stunning costumes, magnificent music and breathtaking performances, Ballroom with a Twist pushes the boundaries of ballroom dance, infusing it with the energy and intensity of the latest contemporary and hip-hop styles. Tickets cost $49 and can be purchased here. From 6 p.m. @ Marines Memorial Club San Francisco, 609 Sutter Street.
