Saturday, September 1. Watch an LCD Soundsystem Docu

One year ago, LCD Soundsystem played its final show at Madison Square Garden. Frontman James Murphy had made the conscious decision to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top with the biggest and most ambitious concert of its career. The instantly-sold out, near four-hour extravaganza did just that. SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS is simultaneously a document of a once-in-a-lifetime performance and an intimate portrait of Murphy as he navigates both the personal and professional ramifications of his decision. The Roxie cinema in the Mission is showing the full documentary. Cost ranges from $6.50 to 10 and it starts at 11 p.m. @ Roxie Cinema, 3117 Sixteenth Street.

Saturday, September 2. Take the Jackson Square Wine Tour

Head out on an exclusively curated urban wine and food tour through the Historic Jackson Square District. On the course of the tour you will experience classic cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at some of San Francisco’s trendiest establishments. Discover under-the-radar downtown wine bars as you stroll through the former Barbary Coast and learn about the oldest surviving commercial buildings in San Francisco. Tickets for the tour cost $125 and can be purchased here. From 4-7 p.m., meet at the corner of Columbus and Broadway streets (New Sun Hong Kong Restaurant, 600 Broadway Street).

Sunday, September 2. Step Back in Time at the Conservatory of Flowers

Step back … WAY back in time as the Conservatory of Flowers transports you to a real life land of the lost in its newest exhibition Plantosaurus Rex. It’s a prehistoric paradise of plants from the time of the dinosaurs when giant ferns, spiky horsetails and primitive cycads grew in lush abundance and fed many of the monstrous reptiles that roamed the earth millions of years ago. Under a canopy of conifers and Gingko, visitors encounter model dinosaurs like the armored Stegosaurus foraging for vegetation while learning about the symbiotic relationship between ancient flora and fauna. It costs $5 for adults and is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. @ the Conservatory of Flowers, 100 John F Kennedy Drive.
