It's been a while since we've been this excited about a new menswear shop. Thank you, NYC designer Todd Snyder, for opening a 2,300-square-foot emporium of good ol' American style. From the minute you step into the space at the corner of Hayes and Laguna, you're transported to a mid-century meets utilitarian world where rich wooden built-ins, brass and Carrara marble accents, and polished cement floors exude a homey global vibe.
The décor is a pitch-perfect reflection of the label's signature rugged/refined clothing. The store is filled with re-engineered classics and utility-inspired workwear and streetwear, including coveted suede Dylan jackets, shirt jackets, selvedge oxfords, stacks of Japanese and made-in-USA denim, luxe tees, and Italian cashmere and sport coats. There's also a selection of non-Snyder goodies a la Assouline books, vintage watches, and kicks by New Balance, Vans, and Converse.
“We’ve spent a lot of time growing San Francisco Metro to be our third biggest e-commerce market," says Snyder, "so when it was time to expand, this was a very essential market to plant physical roots." // 584 Hayes St. (Hayes Valley), toddsnyder.com

Let's face it, you can tell a lot about a person by their phone case. No brand is more homed in on this current phone-case-as-self thing than Casetify, which just christened its first IRL store at Westfield Valley Fair.
The 800-square-foot Casetify Studio is, indeed, a bright bastion of creativity, where customers are encouraged to touch, feel, and customize their phone cases. There are more than 250 designs including artwork collaborations with Disney Princess, Star Wars, Olivia Rodrigo and the NBA, among others. Both Apple and Samsung users are welcome, as well as those looking to pick up other grab-and-go items like laptop sleeves, phone straps and charms, wireless chargers, etc.
Plus, you can drop off your old phone cases to be recycled or re-used and get 15 percent off your next purchase. Love! So far, the company has prevented more than 60,000 pounds of used mobile cases from hitting landfills. // Westfield Valley Fair Mall, 2855 Stevens Creek Boulevard (Santa Clara), casetify.com

Sometimes the cover is actually better than the book. The thing is, we're sure you'll be buying awesome holiday gifts for everyone on your list. But you could wrap up a rock in Muchachi's merry-making, handcrafted holiday gift paper and win over recipients. East Bay founder and visual designer Andrea Ramirez's knack for putting together vibrant color combos and simple graphic designs (think checks, stripes, plaids, and more) is unmistakable. The wrapping paper is sold by the sheet ($5), so you can load up on lots of different designs. We are. // Shop online at muchachi.com
