Tratto, a rustic and spirited Union Square Italian trattoria, is ready for its annual weeklong holiday celebration, the Feast of the Seven Fishes.
From December 18th through 24th, stop in for holiday revelry, dine with loved ones, and raise a glass to the spirt of the season in Italian style!
An Italian-American Christmas Eve tradition, the Feast of the Seven Fishes is meant as an observance of fasting—a non-partaking of meat until the grand meal of Christmas Day. Known as La Vigilia in Southern Italy (where it originates), Tratto's version, now in its third year, presents a seasonal prix-fixe menu with optional parings from the sustainably farmed wine portfolio of Sonoma's Cline Family Cellars.
The dinner will run for seven nights and includes seven seafood-rich courses including octopus carpaccio with chili oil; monkfish with tomato ragout gnocchi; and seabass with roasted root vegetables. The evening comes to a close with a surprise dessert, sure to serve as a delightful end to a robust evening of culinary excellence to make any Nonna proud.
Reservations ($60/person; $15/wine pairings) are made per usual, with guests encouraged to list the Feast of Seven Fishes within the notes section. Tables are encouraged to fully participate, though the menu will also be available a la carte.
