The world is long overdue for a new iPod-dominating album from behemoth TV on the Radio, and luckily for our starved ears, the day is finally here. Their latest, the gorgeous Nine Types of Light (Interscope), drops April 12, but is now streaming in its entirety on Rhapsody. Get in on that here.
It's a sprawling album of loved-up songs and optimism for these darker times. The band is even releasing a movie of the same name to accompany the album, that somehow seems to encompass sci-fi mystery, violence, animation, and music video-esque montages––ground they haven't broken before. It's perfect timing too, because TVOTR just announced what's sure to be an epic two-night run at the Independent at the tail-end of this month on April 29 and 30 (tickets for that go one sale this Friday, April 8). So strap on those headphones and familiarize yourself with an album everyone's going to be talking and blogging about this Spring.
