The 7th Annual Discarded to Divine fashion event is upon us! It's the time of year when the savvy, the stylish, and the charitable join forces to benefit those overcoming poverty, homelessness and domestic violence through the St. Vincent de Paul Society. As is tradition, leading and aspiring designers will transform discarded clothes donated to SVDP-SF into wearable works of art and exquisite home decor, which will get snapped in a unique auction.
This year, the designs reflect varied sources of inspiration, including the de Young Museum’s permanent and special collections and its new exhibition The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gautier: From Sidewalk to Catwalk. These eleven creations will be among more than 100 one-of-a-kind items auctioned off at the Discarded to Divine gala on April 26 at the SF Design Center. If you want a sneak peek at this year's creations, head to the de Young on April 13 from 6-8 pm for a public viewing of the creations and a performance by The Fashion Slaves!
