The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery has created a unique fundraising event that may well develop into a new tradition for the city's fall arts season: a neighborhood art walk where you can mingle with with some of San Francisco's most notable established and emerging artists, explore local enclaves and businesses, and end up with a unique, collaborative art piece which you can contemplate over cocktails.
Purchase a unique Passport at the event's home base at the Eureka Valley Public Library on 16th Street (a block east of Market St.) and you'll receive a map of participating venues. Visit as many venues as you like to find a featured artist—including author Michelle Tea, photographer Dan Nicoletta, and multi-disciplinary artist Margaret Tedesco—who will mark a page of your passport with a unique art stamp. Take your time and enjoy the neighborhood offerings and atmosphere, and when you're done, show off your one-of-a-kind mini art book at the Q Bar in the heart of the Castro.
