Throw all those preconceived notions of summer festivals out the window. Forget the aggro mosh pits, scary camping conditions, and mid-afternoon burnout you normally suffer by day 2. A new kind of summer festival is headed your way, and it’ll replace that post-event exhaustion with a rejuvenated after-show glow.
Wanderlust is a three-day feast for the senses, taking place July 24 – 26 at Squaw Valley USA in Lake Tahoe. Breaking the typical festival mold, Wanderlust combines health, wellness, and music for a one-of-a-kind experience. Attendees can get centered in one of the many morning yoga classes, led by notable teachers like Shiva Rea, John Friend, Annie Carpenter, Kenny Graham, and many others from San Francisco’s Yoga Tree studios.
After mornings of downward dogs and warrior poses, festival-goers can indulge in music-filled afternoons and evenings. Hitting the mountain-top stage are headliners Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Honey Brothers, Spoon, Andrew Bird, Jenny Lewis, Broken Social Scene, Gillian Welch, and Girl Talk. Other acts include Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Rogue Wave, Amanda Palmer, Kaki King, Mates of State, The Mutaytor, The London Souls, Jai Uttal, and more.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now at www.wanderlustfestival.com. A variety of options are available with prices starting at $124.50 for a weekend music pass and $169.50 for a music and yoga weekend pass. For those seeking a real getaway, VIP packages are also available. These include exclusive access to the High Camp facility, a first-class spa at 8,200 feet that boasts a swimming pool, local, organic fine dining, a hot tub, yoga on the deck, and breathtaking views of the Sierras below.
Wanderlust is produced by Velour Music Group, in conjunction with C3 Presents (Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Music Festival) and Starr Hill Presents (Bonnaroo, Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival).
