Matthew Gennari believes 100 percent that meeting his wife was fate. After he nearly died from a fall off a six-story roof, he decided to seize the day and change jobs. It was at his new workplace that he met Begum Tutuncu, the love of his life.
He proposed with Begum's late grandmother's rings.
The couple wanted a ceremony that exuded classic romance, and the planner at My City Hall Wedding helped them pull it together.
San Francisco City Hall provided ample ornate architecture for their black tie event—all Begum and Matthew had to do was add chairs for their guests. They hired a string trio to play as the descended the grand staircase to meet her wedding party; the bridesmaids wore floor-length wine-hued gowns that matched the ties of the grooms' black-suited buddies.
Begum looked regal in a gown as grand as the venue, complete with intricate embroidery, delicate tulle, and a veil with a sweeping train. She carried a bouquet of pastel roses to match her groom's boutonniere.
The lovebirds said their I dos and then shared a Champagne toast and heart-topped cupcakes. Afterward, it was all urban, with drinks at Trou Normand and dinner at Foreign Cinema.
