Also, Jessica and Joshua Applestone, owners of Fleisher's Grass-fed & Organic Meats, will be at Omnivore Books at 6 p.m., clearing up all questions on how to choose, prepare, cook, and eat good meat at home. They'll be showing off their new book The Butcher's Guide to Well-Raised Meat: How to Buy, Cut, and Cook Great Beef, Lamb, Poultry, and More, and rumor has it that they will be bringing some meaty treats as well. 3885a Cesar Chavez St. (at Church)

Time to bust out the flannel and practice your do-si-do because 18 Reasons is throwing a Full Moon Barn Dance. Bi-Rite Market has the food covered, SodaCraft and Kenwood Vineyards are providing drinks, and there will be live bluegrass tunes, a lasso contest, square dancing, and farm camping. Make sure to bring your own Mason jars, plates, and utensils, as the festivities are trying to be as eco-friendly as possible. It all goes down Saturday at 4 p.m.- Sunday morning. Tickets available online. Circle JR Ranch, 22661 South Central Ave., Sonoma
Sunday, August 14
Sweet teeth, indulge in Project Open Hand's Eleventh Annual Dessert First: Don't Delay Pleasure at the InterContinental San Francisco. Locally loved pastry chefs such as American Cupcake's Devin Alper, Fifth Floor's Francis Ang, and Perbacco's Suzanne LaFleur will be preparing mouthwatering delicacies. Sour Flour's Bagel Monday at La Victoria Bakery always seems to make the dull beginning of another week seem suddenly a whole lot brighter. Well now they're divulging some of their bagel secrets at their Bagel Workshop 3:30-5:30 p.m. Don't forget to bring a plate or a board to bring your newly made bagels home, or you can leave them at the bakery overnight so they'll be freshly baked for you the next morning.
