What: 50 carefully selected artworks—many on view for the first time—that explore the dynamic role of portraiture in modern and contemporary art. Exhibiting artist Mickalene Thomas and UC Santa Cruz assistant professor Derek Conrad Murray kick off the show with a lively discussion inside her special commissioned work, Between Ourselves Again.
