Wedding Inspiration: The ultimate wine and cheese party on Treasure Island
14 November 2019
The day was centered around wine—for the podium, they used a seasoned oak wine barrel under a spray of vivid florals overhead. The bride wore a cream floor-length slip dress with voile overlay and train, speckled with delicate pearls that caught the afternoon light. Against the decorative palette of navy and neutrals, her gown gave a warm pop, perfectly suited for the California winery theme.
She carried a bouquet bursting with white, sage, and dusty purple blooms, complemented by her hubby-to-be's matching boutonniere and formal black tux. It wasn't all serious though—instead of kids, they had groomsmen play the part of "flower men," dropping petals as they made their way down the aisle.
Afterwards, guests mingled and celebrated the couple while enjoying a selection of wine and cocktails before making their way indoors. Under a canopy of geometric chandeliers, the newlyweds were hoisted in chairs for the traditional Jewish celebratory Horah. They danced until the sun set, when the party shifted into the Barrel Room. Here, a wall of illuminated barrels offered a very on-theme, rustic backdrop, while an arrangement of circular tables with wooden chairs and grey linens added chair flair to the industrial space.
It was all about the details here with florals that carried over in tone from the ceremony; even the silverware was engraved with the couple's wedding date. The one quirky element of the reception was their life-sized Cheesehead cheese cake at the hors d'oeuvres table. Equally impressive was the dessert table with their three-tiered wedding cake floating on a natural wood disc, surrounded by an array of bright florals. With macarons and pots de crème, there was something for everyone. After the cake cutting and sweets noshing, guests hit the dance floor.
