What: Letters of Fear & Love—Kinetic Release

Why: To celebrate the release her memoir, Letters of Fear & Love, Sophia E. Aguiñaga is collaborating with local choreographer Gregory Dawson and Dawson Dance to translate literature into movement. Performed to her spoken word, the composition is an investigative journey focused on redefining love and exploring adoration beyond social constructs, media, psychological patterns, and science. What: Adam Pendleton: Which We Can

When: Opening reception Thursday, November 16th from 4pm-7pm. The exhibit runs from November 17th - December 22nd.
Why: This is for conceptual art lovers. As one of the largest Bay Area solo exhibitions, the show features art from New York-based artist Adam Adam Pendleton. It will be the first time he his work is shown in California and will feature works from several his ongoing series including System of Display, Untitled (A Victim of American Democracy), and Independance. The collection will include 30 large-scale format silkscreen collage on mylar with an emphasis on the artist's ability to create with different materials and mediums.
What: Art for the People by Justin Bua
When: November 18th, 2pm -6pm
Where: 693 Monterey Boulevard
Why: Award-winning urban artist Justin Bua will be in San Francisco offering free prints and rare collectable paintings, personally signed on site. The public event will take place on the street and will include an exhibition with his hip hop artwork. // More information at facebook.com.

When: November 9th, 6pm
Why: The notable project, Sites Unseen, aimed to transform the alleys of Yerba Buena neighborhood into cultural hubs, will unveil their latest project—a large-scale text-based neon piece by New York-based artist Hank Willis Thomas on the wall of a private building on Annie Street. A presentation and free public talk will be held at the California Historical Society at 6pm, adjacent to the installation, and the inaugural showing of the artwork will begin at 7pm. // sitesunseen.org

What: Ballet for Black & Brown Bodies

Why: This is a free 6-week studio workshop led by choreographer and dancer Alyah Baker. As an exploration of movement, the goal of the course is to investigate throughout gestures the importance of identity, gender and ethnicity.
