Snuggle up to super soft bedding and other yummy home goods at the much-loved brand's first San Francisco store.

Plus, find out what all the (social) buzz is about regarding Junoco's signature cleansing balm, and help ensure low-income teenage girls get their dream outfits for the first day of school.

Brooklinen opens in Hayes Valley. Cozy-bedding freaks, rejoice.

Just days ago, Brooklinen celebrated the opening of its San Francisco brick-and-mortar store. The space is airy and cozy, a most fitting aesthetic environment for the luxe (mostly DTC) home brand known for its quality bedding as well as bath goodies, loungewear, and other home essentials.

If you're a BL newbie, we say go for the linen sheets, pillowcases, and duvets. They're so comfy, breathable and work whether it's hot as hell or chilly AF outside. And yes, it's true, they only get softer over time. Definitely take a whirl through and don't miss the soy candles. We're in love with Nightcap and Magic Hour. Nighty night.

Local beauty brand Junoco keeps it simple.

When we say simple, we're not kidding. SF-based Junoco's signature bestselling product, Clean 10 cleansing balm, includes just 10 (clean) ingredients. The star of the show is Japanese Pearl Barley. Chockfull of vitamins and antioxidants, it helps brighten the skin and reduce dark spots thanks to its ability to regulate melanin production. It's good for all skin types, doesn't strip out the good natural oils, and sells for a reasonable $15. And hear this, waterproof-makeup wearers: It's kryptonite for stubborn blush, foundation, and eye color. (We speak from personal experience here.)

Along with a focus on minimalist formulas, sustainability is key to the brand's mission. Products contain zero microplastics, and upcycled ingredients are used whenever possible to reduce waste. Likewise, all packaging is recyclable and made from FSC-certified materials.

Is it any wonder that the newcomer, which goes out of its way to celebrate the beauty of real people's imperfect skin, is a social media superstar and already raised more than $6 million in Series A funding? Obviously not.

Do something good! Help The Nines make back-to-school fun and fashionable for local girls in need.

If you're fashion-obsessed like us, you probably still get all tingly when thinking about the many first-day-of-school looks you put together way back when. So yeah, we're all in when it comes to helping low-income girls get excited about the start of school and their OOTDs. You too? Great.

The Nines, a nonprofit whose mission is to boost confidence during girls' most formative years, is seeking volunteers to help curate 250-plus style boxes filled with donated clothing and school supplies. When are you needed? The Nines will be popping up on Wednesday, August 24th through Thursday, September 1st at a spot in the Mission. (The address will be sent once you sign up.)

Along with putting together the boxes, other tasks may include styling outfits, gift wrapping, merchandising the space, etc. Another really cool thing: All local recipients—teens from 12 to 20—filled out style questionnaires to ensure sizes and fashion preferences fit. They're gonna look (and feel) marvelous.
