Local designers looking to get some exposure: now’s the time to send in your portfolios to Fashion on the Square. Held each summer in the plaza at Union Square, the annual event bills itself as the largest outdoor fashion show on the West Coast. (It’s also part industry fundraiser for the non-profit organization Fashion Group Foundation of San Francisco).

An invite-only VIP pre-party kicks off festivities July 18, and the runway show, free and open to the public and hosted by a to-be-announced celebrity, follows on July 19. A limited number of for-purchase runway seats will be available online starting in May. To be considered, designers should submit their website portfolios or jpegs of four to five images of their work to info@fahsiononthequare.com.
