Handmade Nation, a new documentary chronicling the rise of the crafting revolution, has been cutting a swath across the country (and the world) with their screenings drawing massive crowds and equally impressive praise. Next week (March 11th, to be exact) they'll be coming to Mezzanine, and along with the screening there will be a panel discussion featuring local craft notables such as Lisa Congdon (owner of retailer Rare Device), Derek Fagerstrom (Craft and DIY Co-editor at design*sponge and co-owner of The Curiosity Shoppe), Natalie Zee Drieu (Senior Editor of Craft magazine), and Stephanie Syjuco (fine artist and professor). AND, in case that wasn't enough handmade goodness, there will also be local crafters and artists there selling their wares. To celebrate all the fun, we'll be featuring some of the vendors that will be at the event in our posts from now until March 11th. It'll be a way for you to get a look at some of the local talent and gain even more incentive (seriously, do you need anymore?) to head down there next week. See you there, and in the mean time, happy crafting!
