Craftsman and Wolves Hires Star Pastry Chef for New Russian Hill Spot

Craftsman and Wolves, the patisserie-cafe in the Mission you love so much is opening up a new location in Russian Hill. Between Polk and Van Ness, this second wave of scrumptious pastries like The Rebel Within and 4505 Smoked Ham and Cheese Twist, will be joining new baked brilliance created by 2011 James Beard Award Winner, Angela Pinkerton.

As the Executive Pastry Chef for Eleven Madison Park in NY, Pinkerton racked up a slew of culinary accolades, and has now decided to bring her talents to the Bay Area.

“I was looking for something totally different,” Pinkerton tells Inside Scoop. “After being at Eleven Madison Park and in restaurants for years, I was looking for a change. I really love what they do at Craftsman & Wolves. I have a lot respect for what they’re doing … I want to be a part of it and get my hands in there.”

Pinkerton and chef-owner William Werner are currently concocting new, tantalizingly tasty treats for the Russian Hill cafe set to open this May.

The new branch features a smaller layout, but nestled in the new eclectic Pacific Avenue building that Chronicle urban design critic John King described as “a 21st century concoction that looks like something cooked up in pre-World War I Paris,” it is sure to win over a new crowd of pastry lovers. Craftsman and Wolves 746 Valencia St. (Mission) and coming soon: 1643 Pacific Ave. (Russian Hill)
