A reminder that the runway need not be stomping ground solely for the stick-thin comes in the form of this weekend’s Kiss the Curves fashion show, scheduled for Saturday night at Oakland’s Historic Sweets Ballroom.
R&B radio personality Sterling James hosts the evening, whose focal point is a runway show directed by Charleston Pierce and featuring current collections from local and national plus-size apparel designers and boutiques.
Models will head down the runway in looks from national label Ashley Stewart, Chicago’s Chocolate Sushi Couture, A Clothes Mind, Tru Diva, Bay Area-based online boutique Marie Denee and Bay Area labels Igigi and Corinthia Peoples Designs.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
