...that's a lot of glasses.
This was a dinner I attended during the Symposium for Professional Wine Writers up in Napa. It was a good three days, and I gleaned some valuable information about publishing. More than that, however, I made some excellent new friends. Not a bad use of time, particularly for people who are just starting their career.
The dinner, which was at Meadowood, by the way, was excellent. Everyone got 15 wines, one for each of the fellowship awards sponsored by a particular winery. I had Tor Kenward wines to thank for sponsoring the scholarship and the wonderful Eric Asimov to thank for nominating me. Eric wasn't there, but I did get to meet Tor Kenward, a former Beringer marketing exec who started his own winery a few years ago. A decidedly engaging fellow, Kenward makes a Beckstoffer Cabernet that’s lip-smackingly delicious. Keep an eye out for it.
