It was only a matter of time, right?
Presidential hopeful (and the source of all our nightmares) Donald Trump will speak at the GOP state convention on Friday, April 29, at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame. Trump has the coveted lunchtime spot, while his fellow Republican candidates John Kasich and Ted Cruz will speak over the course of the two-day event.
Sadly, Trump may not be greeted with the kind of liberal protests you'd expect from a proud blue state. According to SF Weekly, California is Trump Country (ew). It appears local Republicans are definitely the screaming-tweeting type, and they're eating up everything that Trump has to say.
“California, like much of the rest of the nation, has struggled to regain its full economic success,” Trump said last week in a statement. “A Trump administration is going to be a pro-jobs, pro-economy and pro-entrepreneur administration. I look forward to being with the great people of California and sharing my vision to make America great again.”
The appearance of all three candidates shows how important the June 7 California primary will be to determining who will win the Republican nomination. The state’s bloc of 172 GOP convention delegates is the biggest single haul in the country.
