The Spice Is Right Cocktail Class
Anchor Distilling and Company and Rittenhouse Rye are hosting a whiskey-centric cocktail class at DOSA on Fillmore this Saturday, July 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Spice Is Right cocktail class will include hands-on instruction from DOSA's lead bartender, Anchor's head distiller, and Rittenhouse Rye's West Coast ambassador. It also includes the making and tasting of various whiskey cocktails, as well as an assortment of South Indian small plates. Omakase Cocktail Experience
Sushi connoisseurs already know that "omakase" means "I'll leave it up to you." This month, Roka Akor is taking omakase a step further. Starting Thursday, July 7th at 7:30 p.m. the three-year-old restaurant is launching a limited-seating "cocktail omakase" in the downstairs lounge. The 90-minute experience begins with a bartender explaining the tradition of omakase as well as the theme of the evening. Each $55 session features five to seven alcoholic drinks served in specialty glassware, with some cocktails tailored specifically to guest preferences. Make reservations online in advance, as only five reservations are accepted per night.
