Where to Grab Food & Drinks:

The 2014 Oakland Bacon & Beer Festivalis a fundraising event for Oakland Grown, who’s partnering with Bison Organic Beer and Eat Boston to marry bacon and beer, bringing you free samplings from local restaurants and breweries.

For the Bacon: Get high on the hog with testers from Grease Box, Bacon Bacon, Sweet Bar Bakery, Plum, Grand Lake Kitchen, The Whole Beast, and more.

For the Beer: Wet those taste buds with brew samplings from 21st Amendment, Golden Road, Sierra Nevada, Uncommon Brewers, Calicraft, and Lagunitas, among others.

Also, nearby: Jack London Square, Oakland’s prized seaside oasis, is known for its diverse scene of restaurants that cater to the tastes of every visitor. Try Bocanova if you’re in the mood for Pan-American cuisines. Scott’s Seafood Bar & Grill sets the mood for waterfront adventures with savory seafood entrees. And, Yoshi’s Jazz Club offers Japanese-style platters coupled with live music.

Jack London Farmer’s Market – Open every Sunday from 9am-2pm, the center for shopping sustainable foods is a vibrant place that offers delights for every kind of visitor. Find fruits, vegetables, freshly baked breads, flowers, and specialty foods made available by the Pacific Coast Farmer’s Association.  

Runway Style House is a radiant boutique promoting grassroots fashions in the heart of the Oakland. Perched above Telegraph Avenue, with colossal glass windows overlooking downtown, the 2nd floor retail space is a powerhouse of contemporary designers and eclectic brands.
