Shop to Support the SF LGBT Center
One of our favorite things around here is the opportunity to do good shopping—and by that we mean consuming for a cause. At Shop OUT Day, hosted by the Fillmore Merchants Association, 10 percent of sales at participating Fillmore stores will go to fund the critical services of the SF LGBT Center. So, ready your credit cards and stock up on fall provisions at Alexis Bittar, Jonathan Adler, Space NK, Spice Ace, Superga, Toujours Lingerie, Zinc Details and more. // Aug. 26th at participating shops on Fillmore St. (Pacific Heights), fillmorestreetsf.com

Chic Throws to Get (SF) Summer Started
Sefte Living totally gets Bay Area weather patterns. Exhibit A: The sustainable textile and bedding biz, based in Marin and NYC, recently released new lightweight throws. They're ideal for cozying up to on SF fall summer days and nights (especially when Karl the Fog makes an appearance). Hand-woven by artisans in Peru and made of organic alpaca, the new collection was inspired by founders/twinsies Jenn and Sarah Pearsall's visit to the Colca Canyon in southern Peru. We're obsessed with the tassel-adorned Nudo Throw; the Chuspi Throw comes in a close second. Prices range from $260 to $475. // sefteliving.com

Shin(ola) on This Fall
A slew of new fall-ready goodies for ladies and gents have landed at Shinola. Like what, you say? Yummy, American-made leather pieces in rich shades of Aubergine (swoon!), Bourbon and Ocean. Standouts include the roomy Square Shopper, Mini Drawstring and ultra-sleek Tech Portfolio. Charming minimalist jewelry and OMG-inducing watches for which the Detroit lifestyle retailer is known are also worth a special trip to Jackson Square or Palo Alto. The women's limited-edition Muldowney timepiece, named for Shirley Muldowney (aka The First Lady of Drag Racing), also deserves a special shout-out for its "understated badass-ery," as coined by one eloquent reviewer. Bottom line: It's crystal clear that the buzzy brand is still worth talking about—and shopping at. // 722 Montgomery St. (Jackson Square); 261 Hamilton Ave. (Palo Alto), shinola.com
