Your must-eat-and-drink guide in San Francisco this week.
Calling Coffeeholics
Starting today, Coffee Bar (who clearly understands that nothing teams better with coffee than dessert) is launching its second pastry chef collaboration, #sweetforCB. Chef Francis Ang, of Dirty Habit, has concocted a sweet drink of Mr. Espresso called the Yuzu-White Chocolate Flat White, with yuzu, marmalade and caramelized white chocolate, garnished with shaved black cardamom. A portion of proceeds on sales of the drink will benefit the SF chapter of Meals on Wheels. Post #sweetforcb (tag @oakwoodroasted and @coffeebarsf) to your social channels and then show it to a Coffee Bar cashier within 24 hours—you'll receive a caffeine kick on the house. // April 13-May 8, multiple locations, coffeebarsf.com.
Viva Mezcal!
Doña Tomas, everyone's favorite spot to nosh Mexican bites in Oakland, is breaking out the bottles of Del Maguey mezcal for an intoxicating tasting on Wednesday, April 22. Free chips, salsa, and guac will be on hand to soak up half-ounce and one-and-a-half ounce shots. Cue the Thursday morning "sick day." // 5-6:30pm, Apr. 22, donatomas.com.
Spring Pop-up Dinner
Kitchen alums from Michelin darling restaurants Cyrus and Manresa are bringing their knives to SF on Sunday the 19th for a spring-themed pop-up dinner at Parties That Cook (formerly Tante Marie Cooking School) in North Beach. Called "Harvey & Thistle," the menu promises a bounty including fabulous favas with asparagus, egg, and crispy lemon skin; poisson with peas, tofu, rye, and sorrel; and foie gras with strawberry, rhubarb, and white chocolate. Yum. // $95 per person, Apr. 19, 6-9pm; purchase tickets here.
