Four New Cafes in San Francisco

Four New Cafes in San Francisco

By

Hey you, yeah, over here. Hi sleepyhead. It’s time to perk up at these four new cafes around town. Because don’t you want to know where you can get a shakerato?

Chapel Hill Coffee Co.

Folks in the FiDi will be happy to discover this little third wave coffee spot tucked in an alley in Chinatown. Owner Rafael Vizcaino and his brother Jorge may have a small shop, but they still enlisted Boor Bridges Architects and Kyle Minor Design to design it. They pour and pull Four Barrel coffee and serve pastries from Neighbor Bakehouse and tea from Chamois & Twig. Cold brew is coming soon! Hours are currently Mon–Fri 7am–3pm. 670 Commercial St. at Kearny, 415-948-8119.

Equator Coffee & Teas

Fans of Equator will be thrilled to hear the San Rafael roaster has opened their first location in SF (it’s in the historic Warfield building). There is quite the array of beverages, from brewed to cold brew coffee, and you won’t want to miss their shakerato flavors (the weather is certainly warm enough for one right now). Even tea drinkers will be taken care of, with some unique options like their tea squashes—a tea and fruit soda. You can also enjoy salads, (gluten-free) arepa sandwiches, parfaits, and wine and beer. Bonus: outdoor seating is coming soon. Yup, this place has you covered. Daily 7am–7pm. 986 Market St. at 6th St., 415-614-9129.

Home

Folks in the Sunset have a new and popular place to fuel up and hang out, with the choice of De La Paz and Four Barrel coffee, and some really creative coffee drinks, like a coconut vanilla or chocolate mint latte, and the Coketastic will jolt you awake with a combination of Coke, espresso, and ice cream. Their toasts are also pretty special, like condensed milk and cinnamon, or if you want something savory, there’s chicken meatball toast and “eggs in a basket.” Open Tue–Fri 8am–4pm, Sat–Sun 8am–5pm. 1222 Noriega St. at 20th Ave., 415-742-0038.

The Market on Market

If you’re over by Market Square, aka “the Twitter building,” there are a bunch of businesses tucked inside, including a cafe serving Four Barrel coffee (plus Jittery John’s cold brew), and hot or iced chai, and smoothies, too. Oh, and an affogato with Frozen Kuhsterd vanilla bean or maple butter frozen custard. Oh yeah. You’ll also be able to have a seat in the industrial chairs or the blue banquettes for sandwiches, salads, and more. Open daily 7am–10pm. 1355 Market St. at 10th St., 415-767-5130.
