Lately, it’s begun to seem that now, perhaps more than ever, paying full price is oh-so-passé. Not only are online sample sale sites in full bloom (the most recent notable newcomer being Swirl), but there are also oodles of daily deals sites cropping up everywhere we look. Be that as it may, discounts on designer merch need not only take place online. There are alternatives. Lest you forget that one can, in fact, find discounted designer labels and actually try them on before purchasing, we’re here with four local destinations for scoring designer labels for less:
Jeremy’s: As style addicts who live and work near South Park can attest, this SoMa destination for high-end men’s and women’s apparel priced well below retail is the place to head to stock up on Dolce & Gabbana, Chloé and Christian Louboutin. Get in on one of their regular sales, and you’re in for up to 40 to 70 percent off the shop’s already discounted prices.
My Roommate’s Closet:
An antidote to the high price tags hanging from the racks in many a nearby boutique, this Cow Hollow destination stocks women’s clothing, shoes, jewelry and handbags from labels such as Diane Von Furstenberg, James Perse, Tory Burch, Loeffler Randall and Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. You’re also likely to find the occasional local name thrown into the mix, including handbags by Bryna Nicole and jewelry by Melissa Joy Manning.
Isda & Co: The sole retail location from this longtime San Francisco-based label operates like an outlet store. Inside the South Park shop, find past-season, overstock and sample merchandise from the brand’s line of casual, versatile women’s apparel on offer for 50 percent or more less than you’d find it priced in the department stores and boutiques around the country that carry it.
Cary Lane: Leaving its former Noe Valley digs to set up shop in Hayes Valley earlier this year, this discount designer destination carries men’s and women’s apparel from a variety of labels that includes well-known brands such as Zegna and Tod’s alongside smaller lines like Bread and Butter, Denim of Virtue and Tailgate. Expect prices to be anywhere from 40 to 90 percent less than retail.
