Twin brothers Simon and Nikolai Haas dreamed up the Beast series from inside their Los Angeles studio. The Hairy Belafonte bench—covered with Icelandic sheepskin and sporting cast bronze appendages (look closely and you’ll see all of them)—debuted at San Francisco’s Fog Fair earlier this year.
2. Stump Table
Jonathan Anzalone and Joseph Ferriso, of the Outer Richmond design workshop Anzfer Farms, dressed up chunks of Ocean Beach driftwood with silver leaf and lavender stain. The result: this Stump table for The NWBLK. $700

To create her limited-edition Clamp Lamp, lighting designer Lindsay Adelman combined reclaimed brass-plated industrial clamps with a complicated glassblowing process—80 percent of her ombré globes shatter in the creation process. $2,200,

Artist Justine Ashbee was inspired by traditional Navajo tapestries to produce her Native Line wall hangings, woven with precious metals, including brass, gold, and silver. $760–$2,737
Scottish artisan David Taylor juxtaposed polished brass with rough cement for Considered Objects, a show opening at The NWBLK on April 24. Also on view: new creations from his three-month residency at the SF design studio. $600–2,000
Cherry blossom branches are rendered in brass and porcelain in the latest pieces from LA designer David Wiseman. The Cherry Blossom III mirror made its first appearance at SF’s Fog Fair.
