Take a load off, and have a SEAT overlooking the bay at Fort Mason. Local artist and landscape designer extaordinaire Topher Delaney and Kika Probst, both of Seam Studio, have curated the next generation of public art at Fort Mason Center, accessible to everyone, gratis (weather permitting, unless you like the idea of sitting on a soggy bench in the rain).
30 artists and design collaborations—including Arup + Jefferson Mack Metal, Bicycle Fabrications, Oliver DeCicco, Ryan Duke, and Brian Goggin—have created their own unique vision of a seat based on the history of Fort Mason Center and the natural elements of the site. Now through May 31, you can download the site map, and take an afternoon to test out all the designs. For more information about each artist, you can call in to 415-226-2816 (press # afterwards) and follow the prompts, or text SEAT to 56512. There's also a QR code for the savvy smartphone set. Happy sitting.
