It’s no secret that San Francisco has a pretty sexy past. From the notoriously lascivious Barbary Coast and the Gold Rush-era bordellos to the thriving BDSM (Bondage Disciple Sadism Masochism) community and the dancer-owned and operated strip club the Lusty Lady, San Francisco is a city known for getting busy. Have you always wanted to know about SF’s dark and steamy past, but were afraid to ask? This Sunday, July 22, get all your scandalous questions answered when the Sex Workers Festival and San Francisco Bike Coalition co-present Sex on Wheels, a bike tour that retraces the steps of the city’s sexual history. At this informative daytime bike tour, ride around the very streets where the famous ladies of the night awaited customers, learn about the tragic story of porn kings the Mitchell Brothers and Sally Stanford a former madam-turned-mayor among others. Experience the dark underbelly of SF as narrators clothed in period costume bring the city’s notorious sex workers and activists to life with the torrid tales that helped shape its saucy heritage.
