Spring in Tahoe means warm-weather skiing in the morning, paddleboarding on the lake in the afternoon, and listening to a live outdoor concert in the evening.
It's the best of winter and summer at the same time—and this year, they’re pulling out all the stops to fill the season with festivities.

On the slopes in spring, you’ve got bluebird days, fewer crowds, virtually no lines, cheaper lift tickets, and short-sleeve weather (or a swimsuit, if you're Chelsea Handler). Epic amounts of snowfall this season have given Tahoe’s ski resorts a hefty base, so you won't have to avoid patches of rocks or dirt. Just make sure to wax your skis or board to keep your speed on the slow snow.
Activities and events such as Alpine's 39th Annual Snow Golf Tournament (April 12) at Palisades Tahoe, where skiers hit tennis balls with a golf club on a top-to-bottom, 10-hole snow golf course, make it even more enticing to stick to the slopes. Every weekend through April 13th, they hand out complimentary glasses of Champagne at 2pm at Northstar California's Tōst, a ski-up barnear the top of the mountain. And at Sugar Bowl, they celebrate the end of the ski season water-style with the Paradise Pond Skim on April 19th.

This late in the season, the fun doesn't end when the lifts close. Warm temperatures and late sunsets mean you can kayak on the crystalline lake or play beach volleyball after a full day on the slopes.
There are some fun events to look forward to on warm spring evenings, too. On April 4-5, be inspired by environmentally focused movies at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival at Fox Cultural Hall in Kings Beach. If you’re in the mood for music, catch the Old 97's with special guest Grey DeLisle (April 6) or a wicked tribute band (Van Halen, anyone?) at the Crystal Bay Casino. G Love takes the stage at the Spring Tracks Concert at the KT Base Bar at Palisades Tahoe on April 20th.

There is just as much fun to be had off the mountain for guests of the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa & Casino, which is just minutes from Diamond Peak Resort and across the street from Ski Beach. Recover from a long day with a spa treatment, or catch some rays at the outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzi. In the evening, try your luck at the casino, roast marshmallows over a firepit with a complimentary s'mores kit, or take a guided “Moonlight in the Meadows” hike.
Book a room at the luxury Everline Resort & Spa to enjoy ski-in, ski-out access at Palisades Tahoe (and a ski valet). They also offer a variety of spring activities, including snowshoe stargazing, broomball, sled races, disco ice skating, and fat-tire bike rentals. If you just want to chill, head to the full-service spa for a massage, facial, or body treatment.
For a slopeside spa experience and ski-in, ski-out access to Northstar California, stay at the five-star Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. Upgrade your room to Club Level to access the private Club Lounge, where complimentary food and drinks are served throughout the day. For a luxe Champagne and caviar experience, book a Veuve Clicquot Winter Cabana Chalet (through April 13th).
The newest stay on the lake is the Evo Hotel in Tahoe City. With lakeside accommodations, on-site gear rentals, and dining and drinks at the Sierra Surf Club, this hotel curated by iconic snowboarder Jeremy Jones strives to bring outdoor enthusiasts together. Evo also partners with Protect Our Winters, donating all restaurant profits to the organization’s movement for climate action.
