Since their debut album Times of Romance, the Lovemakers have gained a drummer and a new keyboard player and emphasized the rock component of their dance-rock sound. That is not to say, however, that they’ve lost that loving feeling. Known for putting the public display in their public displays, Oakland’s most affectionate dance-rock outfit is at it again with a new EP titled Misery Loves Company, out on local label Fuzz. The first of a series of EPs due to be released approximately every six months, the EP also comes complete with a music video to accompany every track. With their Human League–like sonic stylings at the ready, the band will celebrate the debut of their multimedia blitz with an assuredly cheeky show at Bimbo’s on July 21. Bimbos365club.com
