Ladies, rev up those estrogen engines. LUNAFEST 2011 is here to celebrate an entire decade of support for women's issues through film. The yearly film festival arrives at Sports Basement this Thursday with a total girls'-night-out theme (food, drinks, jewelry making and feather hair extensions) before the show.
There's a diverse array of films on tap — animations, dramas and even a documentary about the only woman Muni Cable Car operator in the city — for only $10 at the door. Every cent benefits the Breast Cancer Fund and Girls on the Run Bay Area. All the films are meant to spark dialogue and make a difference through harrowing and inspiring tales of perserverance, hope and humor. Pack some Kleenex. You know, just in case.
