Get gift-y at the stylish holiday marketplace in Oakland on Saturday.

Plus, the Vintage Rug Shop makes the move from Oaktown to Berkeley and designer Chloe Redmond Warner launches her first collection of textiles, wallpapers, and furniture with the debut of RAD Goods.

Ready, set, Marché! Last year’s buzziest holiday shopping event returns to the Bay.

ICYMI: Marché caps are a hot commodity.

The most wonderful time of the year starts Saturday, November 16th—especially for those who take their holiday shopping seriously and chicly. Marché turns Oakland’s Bridge Yard into a marketplace-cum-wonderland filled with gift-worthy clothing and accessories, jewelry, art, beauty, and foodie items from more than 70 women-led brands.

Just a smattering of the labels you’ll find include Bay Area stalwarts Freda Salvador, Credo Beauty, Parker Thatch, Lan Jaenicke, Marigold, and True Botanicals along with emerging businesses like Goldstories and Mur by Ayca. (See the full list of vendors.)

There will be plenty of sustenance on hand as well, including pizza from Norcina, cookies from Christine’s, wine from Bricoleur, and caffeine and pastries from Flywheel.

For its sophomore event, Marché follows the same successful formula that worked the first time around: a focus on eco-conscious brands with ethical production practices and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Marché founders Betsy Sadler and Sarah Ewick know from whence they curate. Among their other skills? Championing women entrepreneurs, making positive change and creating connections.

“Last year, the Bay Area embraced us wholeheartedly, showing what community truly means. Now more than ever we need that same community,” says Sadler. “Supporting women-owned businesses is essential not just for economic growth but for fostering a world that values equality, inclusivity and respect for all.”

PSA: We suggest bringing (multiple) canvas totes…no one’s getting out of there without a sleigh full of gifts.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 day of the event (kids under 12 are free).

Designer Chloe Redmond Warner debuts her own home line: Meet RAD Goods.

Your digs are about to get a lot more rad thanks to Chloe Redmond Warner’s first capsule collection of fabrics, wallpaper, and furniture. The talented Oakland designer and founder/principal of 20-year-old Redmond Aldrich Design just launched RAD Goods, and her first exclusive products.

A labor of love, the spark for the collection came from watercolors she painted during one lovely summer spent in Maine, surrounded by coastal foliage, bees, and blooms. The resulting floral motifs, inspired by her New England days, exude a romantic vintage vibe yet feel utterly fresh. The opulent fabrics and wallpaper come in the same four patterns (Peony Chintz, Meadow, Sunblock, and Busy Bee) and colorways—all très chic. Plus, there's the Lucia game table and Sara cabinet, both crafted of rich cherry and redwood burl and both statement-making pieces.

The collection is a dream come true for Redmond Warner, as she shares in a heartfelt launch-day Insta post: “Every part of this has been a delight, from painting, to making the patterns, to figuring out manufacturing, to designing the logo, site, assets, picking music, all of it. And if that makes it sound like I did it alone…no way. Every single one of those things was a collaboration...feeling extra grateful today.”

The Vintage Rug Shop bids adieu to Temescal, bonjour to Fourth Street.

The Vintage Rug Shop, a home furnishings spot known for its mix of vintage rugs and modern furnishings, has enjoyed much support from its Oakland community—something founder Brittany Chinaglia will forever cherish. It's helped fuel the recent move to a larger storefront in Berkeley.

“As our offerings and customer base have grown, we felt it was time to find a space that could grow with us, and Fourth Street is the perfect place for that next step,” she explains.

Opened last week, the fresh shop brings good news for all in the form of a broader range of curated collections. We’re talking more heirloom-quality rugs, furnishings, and textiles, home accessories and tabletop. The goods themselves have an aesthetic that's un-precious, lived-in and cool. Indeed, Chinaglia’s attraction to natural textures and perfectly imperfectly pieces makes sense given her design eye was shaped by a Northern California childhood, one filled with craggy coastlines and foggy landscapes.
