Memorial Day Benefit Concert with Sting, Bob Weir and More

By

What could be better than capping off a well-deserved three-day weekend with a superstar-studded concert? Capping it off with a superstar-studded concert that benefits some unbelievably deserving charities.

Case in point: This Monday’s Let the Sunshine In concert featuring (get ready for this) Sting, Bob Weir, The Supremes’ Mary Wilson, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. of The Fifth Dimension, Earl Klugh, David Grisman, Shanice Wilson, Tevin Campbell, Lisa Fisher, Jeanie Tracy, Ralphe Armstrong, Dale “Satchmo” Powers, the Narada Michael Walden Band, and other musicians. Award-winning and platinum-selling music producer, musician and songwriter Narada Michael Walden is bringing the unprecedented concert experience to Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall this Memorial Day. To top it off, several artists will be accompanied by a San Francisco Conservatory of Music student orchestra conducted by Maestro Michael Morgan, music director of the Oakland East Bay Symphony and faculty member at the Conservatory.

Even more amazing than the concert’s jaw-dropping lineup are the charities it benefits. Let the Sunshine In pays tribute to Christopher (Chris) Rodriguez, an 11-year-old Oakland youth who was hit by a stray bullet during a piano lesson and paralyzed from the waist down. The concert will support the Narada Michael Walden Foundation, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music scholarship fund, and music education programs in the Bay Area.
