It's no secret that I'm a fan of certain Mexican brews, though not Corona and not Tecate. Instead give me Pacifico, Modelo Especial or the one you see pictured here, Sol. Not really marketed in the US (I couldn't find its American website, but I did find its British one), you nevertheless see it here and there. Possessing a lovely, light, citrusy taste, Sol was created in in the 1890s, and its wonderful label has not changed since then. BevMo (according to its website) purports to have it, though this photo was taken at the restaurant Don Pepe, a Salinas tacqueria, the best one between SF and SLO. If you ask, Pepe will serve it to you with two peeled shrimp stuck in the bottle's mouth. With a little lime--delicious.
