San Francisco's Museum of Craft and Design is about to become even more hip: the Dogpatch's ode to contemporary creativity will soon feature a parklet.
Designed by Marcel Wilson, the urban mini-park will offer Dogpatch residents and visitors a chance to stop, rest, and enjoy the city and waterfront around them. With lots of planned seating, the parklet provides a social space along bustling 3rd Street.
In a neighborhood that has only three parks and little green space, the parklet will provide much-needed greenery as well as additional bike parking and after-museum-hours lighting. With so many food and drink options nearby, the transformed sidewalk will offer you a chance to sit and enjoy your Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous or relax aprés-brunch.
The campaign has raised over $163,000 for construction, but is in need of $10,000 more in order to complete the project. Consider donating here.
