It's a rare (and beautiful) thing when a blossoming fashion designer opts to move from NYC to San Francisco, but such is the case with Lia Kes. The Israeli designer who spent the last nine years in Manhattan evolving her brand from a t-shirt line to a signature collection adored by the likes of Kate Hudson and Chelsea Clinton, just opened her first retail boutique on Saturday in Cow Hollow. Kes told SF Indie Fashion that she's inspired by the sophisticated casualness of San Francisco which is apparent in the flattering drapery that you'll find in her Fillmore St. shop, often balanced with masculine staples that give it an effortless edge.
