On September 24, San Francisco's pet-izens hopped, trotted, flew and sauntered to Patricia's Green, the lovely strip of park in Hayes Valley on Octavia between Hayes and Fell, for SF DOGMA, a day to explore local arts, crafts and businesses—and to celebrate our city's uniquely dedicated love for our pets!
The SF SPCA and 7x7 presented the day with special booths featuring advice from Ask A Vet's Dr. Christina La Cerda, and Ask A Trainer offered by the SF SPCA dog behavior team. Informed Body engaged the crowd with "Bunnies and Buns," a program designed to shape up your buns while meeting adoptable bunnies from Save a Bunny. Other new best friends could be found at rescue organizations such as Family Dog Rescue, MILO Foundation, Muttville and more.
Furry friends were perfectly polished at the Wag Hotel booth, which offered complimentary nail trims and ear cleaning, while Happy Hounds Massage and treat your pets to complimentary assessments, evaluations and demonstrations. Humans puckered up for the Doggie Kissing Booth, ponying up $1 donations per
Attendees also got a chance to meet Cicero, winner of 7x7's Dogma Pet Photo Contest which searched for the pet that repped their hood the best! Cicero's largesse and dignity best represented his neighborhood of Jackson Square.
The highlight of the day was a Pet Talent Contest with tricks that varied from the silly to the sublime! Grand prize winner Karma won himself and his human Patrick Major a fantastic gift package which included a $100 voucher for any SF SPCA service or towards an adoption; five ALL DAY PLAY passes and a $100 Spa Package at Wag Hotel, a BB Jet Set Peurrari Pet Throw from Minimal, an original Unround Hound Square pendant from Novodeco Jewelry, a Happy Hounds Massage complimentary pet session, a pet book gift stack from Chronicle Books, a plush P.L.A.Y. Pet Bed, a portrait session from Nuena Photography, a fancy Gwen Gear Leash & Collar Set and more!
