Don't ever underestimate the passion or loyalty of Rothy's customers. Fanatical they are about the sustainable brand's knit footwear, from the classic pointy flat to the newbie driving loafer. Accessories also tend to cause a (happy) commotion, and the roomy lightweight tote ($175), which just hit the interwebs and brick-and-mortars, is no exception. Don't worry, having too many clogs is not a thing, especially when they're expertly handcrafted with love by SF label and Dogpatch resident Bryr. Founder Isobel Schofield just shared lots of exciting clompy footwear news. A few days ago, the block heel—2.25-inch high with a 1-inch lift in the front—made its debut. Infinitely walkable and decidedly un-schlumpy, it shows up in two new styles: The too-cool-for-school Gabe ($292) and the Daphne ($294), a fun slingback. Also worthy of celebration: Kelp. Red-hot jewelry designer Lauren Harwell Godfrey has been on a roll lately: She opened a new studio in Marin, was accepted into the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA), and she released her newest charitable heart pendant. The beautiful talisman has pink opal at its core with 100 percent of the profits of each sale ($2,500) going to Every Mother Counts, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the safety of pregnancy and childbirth for all women.
Making charitable pieces is nothing new for the brand, which got major buzz with its black onyx heart benefiting the NAACP in 2020, during the Black Lives Matter protests. The new pink heart has an especially personal meaning for the designer and mom to a young son: "I went into heart failure after complications from childbirth and know firsthand how important it is for expecting and birthing mothers to have access to quality care. I'm incredibly honored to be supporting the important work of Every Mother Counts, a cause I believe in deeply."
