Why: A two-and-a-half-hour spectacle of timeless, fiercely female anthems sung by the feminist powerhouse and trailblazer herself. Tickets ($20 to $130) available at tickets.act-sf.org.


Thursday: Exploratorium After Dark: Feed Your Head

When: Thursday, June 8th, 6-10pm

Where: Pier 15 (Embarcadero), exploratorium.edu

Why: Because you can satiate your mind, as well as your craving for cocktails, all in one place with dinner, drinks, and hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Tickets ($10-15) available at transact.exploratorium.edu.


Friday: Night at de Young Museum

When: Friday, June 9th, 5pm to 8:30pm

Where: 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive (Golden Gate Park), deyoung.famsf.org

Why: A melting pot of live-music, dance and theater performances, film screenings, and hands-on art activities, it's the one time you won't have to worry about not using your inside voice in the hallways of a museum. And, it's free to attend.


Saturday: Eco SF School Farm Volunteer Work Day

When: Saturday, June 10th, noon to 4pm

Where: The School Farm, 555 Portola Drive (Diamond Heights), eco-sf.org

Why: A wise man once said that to live an enchanting, present life, one must know the garden soil beneath his or her feet. Help safeguard forestry for the future; all gardening attire and tools will be provided on site. Plus, free snacks.


Sunday: Explore Latte Art—Coffee and Design

When: Sunday, June 11th, 10:30am to 12:30pm

Why: Work together with latte artist Melannie as she guides you through a step-by-step, hands-on tutorial on how to perfect your morning cappuccino. Tickets are normally $75 for her class, but, for this Sunday only, tickets are $35 to $50; purchase at eventbrite.com.
