Smokestack's New Chef + Menu
Smokestack at Magnolia Brewing in Dogpatch has a new menu from on-boarding chef Brandon Korf, who honed his barbecue skills at Sauced BBQ & Spirits and Hi Lo BBQ (now closed). Equator Coffee Opens New FiDi Location
Equator Coffee opened their second San Francisco and fifth Bay Area location Tuesday on 2nd Street. The café offers a full espresso bar, while food offerings include grab-and-go sandwiches such as frittata, veggie, and chicken on focaccia, quiches, and more. Hog & Rocks BBQ Wednesday
In other barbecue news, starting Wednesday, July 20th and continuing every Wednesday throughout the summer, Hog & Rocks will offer a barbeque special for two that includes a tray of barbequed chicken, beef, pork, sausage, housemade BBQ sauce, pickles, and bread, alongside a rotating side. Root Matters at The Perennial Bar + Asian Art Museum Takeover
Join award-winning author and educator Anna Lappé at The Perennial this Saturday as she discusses food and climate change with The Perennial's co-founder Karen Leibowitz. Lappe is known for her book Diet for a Hot Planet as well as her work as a sustainable food advocate. The ticketed event includes a drink at the bar and will launch The Perennial's new event and podcast series entitled "Root Matters." Leibowitz and husband/co-founder Anthony Myint will also host a takeover at The Asian Art Museum on Thursday, August 4th where they'll continue the climate conversation and discuss how we can actually reverse climate change with our consumption choices. Alexander's Steakhouse in Cupertino Relocates
Alexander's Steakhouse in Cupertino has relocated into a massive new 12,500-square-foot space in Cupertino Mall. In addition to steak, chef Jared Montarbo offers a seven-course Omakase menu that features crab, halibut, and foie.
