Everyone loves a good deal, especially when crazy-delicious food is involved. Here are four killer tasting menu and prix-fixe offers available around town for lunch, dinner, and dessert—enjoy.
Spruce Harvest Menu for Lunch
Looking for a spiffy place for lunch, with a sweet deal to boot? Head on over to Spruce, which offers a weekly, three-course harvest menu for lunch (Monday–Friday 11:30 am–2:30 pm) for $25—and you can get wine pairings for just $15 if it’s that kind of lunch, heh. Chef de cuisine John Madriaga’s menus are featuring some gorgeous summer ingredients, from compressed melon to sweet corn ice cream. Oh yeah, and last week’s menu had country-fried chicken. Jardinière Monday Night Prix-Fixe Dinners
The swank Jardinière hosts a mighty tasty (and often very creative) series of Monday night dinners. The three-course, prix-fixe menu is usually around $49 or so, and includes beverage pairings (score!). Sign up for the Jardinière newsletter for updates on future menus, which are usually posted here. Monday, August 5th, features a beer dinner with Almanac Beer Company ($49), while Monday August 12th is the third annual clambake ($59), with Brentwood corn, Maine lobster, Manila clams, and new potatoes, plus peach cobbler for dessert (which will help you pretend it's summer). After the clambake, the Monday night dinners are taking a break until September 9th, FYI.
Chocolate LabWeekly Prix-Fixe Dinners
Have you had a chance to check out the tasty cuisine over at Michael and Jacky Recchiuti’s Chocolate Lab in Dogpatch yet? Well, here’s some inspiration: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for dinner (from 6–10 pm), there is a three-course prix-fixe dinner available for only $23. Right now (through August 2nd), the menu includes their wild salmon gravlax, a vegetable tart with a flaky housemade crust, and elderberry soufflé for dessert. Nice!
Fifth Floor Dessert Tasting Menu
Ahhh, it’s time for dessert. Head on over to Fifth Floor for your finale: a four-course dessert tasting menu from pastry chef Francis Ang. You can try modern dessert presentations like strawberry-eucalyptus mochi with frozen guava, eucalyptus powder, and fennel, and black cardamom beignets. You can enjoy the tasting menu in the bar/lounge area (perfect for a date) or in the dining room, your pick (Tuesday–Saturday from 5:30 pm to close). It’s $35, and you can take it to warp speed six with wine pairings for $60. The tasting menu runs through the end of summer. Enjoy!
