1. Succulent Wall Hanging from Succulence
I’m not one for bow-tied wreaths a la Martha Stewart but I’m all about this succulent wall-hanging ($225) available at Succulence, one of the coolest little stores in Bernal Heights. The shop which used to be tucked away behind Four Star Video on a back patio and cottage, has now expanded into the indoor arena too, focusing on terrariums (which are very hot right now, btw) and more indoor gardening projects. Pick up Home for the Holidays to watch while you’re at it. -Sara Deseran

2. Bingo Night at Riptide
Leave it to the NY Times to teach me something about my own city, but when I read in a recent article that the Riptide out in Ocean Beach has bingo on Saturday nights, I nearly jumped out of my seat. My Eastern European Catholic ancestry has bingo in its blood. Come this Saturday at 5:30 p.m., I’m there, ready to drink margaritas and take the pot. -Robin Rinaldi

3. Population Salon
You may think that the last thing the Haight needs is another salon, until you realize that this new retro-industrial outpost was opened by two Oxenrose alums. Brian and Sylvie set up shop earlier this year and their loyal fans followed … not to mention the endless foot traffic and inquiries they get from newbies popping their heads in to get a look at the space. Their prime location on the bustling Divis corridor has made them the hottest spot for hair in NoPa and residents, including myself, are ever so grateful. 3. Nijiya Market
Going to Nijiya Market in Japantown feels like I'm actually just a regular joe chilling in a supermarket...in Japan. I love everything in there, from their weird bottled teas and Hello Kitty sponges to their prepared foods like sushi, soft kabocha squash and seaweed salads. But what I always pick up is a couple boxes of Golden Curry, which make perfect steaming pots of Japanese curry whenever it's cold and rainy outside. I throw a bunch of veggies and meat in there, pour it over brown rice and voila! It can be as frigid outside as possible and I still wouldn't care, as long as I had some Golden Curry in me. -Laura Mason

4. The Real Estate Report
I'm going to shill for our sister site California Home+Design's newest blog, The Real Estate Report. Former Curbed SF editor Philip Ferrato combs the state for the most lust-worthy homes on the market. His choices (recently, this Arts and Crafts Berkeley pad and Big Sur dreamboat) make me wish I had thought of Groupon or something. Check it out daily on californiahomedesign.com. -Jennifer Pollock

5. Seedstore
Though Seedstore opened in August, I paid my first visit to this Clement store boutique last weekend. It is filled with adorably clothes and shoes and I left with a very long wish list of adorable winter sweaters and holiday party-worthy dresses. Definitely worth a visit! -Jessica Battilana
