Chef Michael Mina's love of football has officially reached epic proportions. The acclaimed local restauranteur is teaming up with the NFL to create a new restaurant just for Super Bowl 50 week in San Francisco.
Named On the Fifty, the pop-up restaurant will replace normal operations at RN74 from February 1-7, 2016. And while the temporary restaurant will still use RN74’s normal menu during the week, there will be some Super Bowl-inspired changes, including dishes from the AFC and NFC champions' home towns. The space will also be covered in festive Super Bowl decor. A portion of the meal proceeds, as well as all sales of NFL memorabilia showcased at the restaurant, will go to NFL Foundation charities. And if that wasn't enough to convince you to check it out, NFL players will also be walking around and available to chat during opening hours. (Selfie with Kaep, anyone?)
RN74’s is situated right next to the upcoming ‘Super Bowl City,’ a free multi-block fan village where football fanatics can congregate in the week leading up to the game. On The Fifty will be open for lunch and dinner, giving Super Bowl City attendees a great, local dining option.
A long-time Niners fan, Mina also has two outposts inside Levi’s Stadium, Bourbon Pub & Bourbon Steak, and hosts a members-only upscale tailgate party every home game.
