The three ski villages in Lake Tahoe are now decked out for the holidays: Squaw Valley, Northstar and Heavenly will be having a full two weeks of celebrations for the holiday season and scheduled events will include skiing with celebrities, fireworks, parties, and of course, Santa and Shaun White on the slopes.
Squaw Valley
Starting on December 15, Squaw Valley will be offering caroling and Santa in the Village and on the slopes every day until Christmas. On December 21 will be the End of the World Party at the Bar One. The party is only $10 at the door and Mayan costumes are encouraged. The party will feature the Afrofunk Experience and DJ Aaron Pope.
If you survive the Apocalypse, December 22 will feature a free concert by the Gin Blossoms and free sleigh rides. Christmas Eve will also feature a snowman contest and a torchlight parade. Christmas Day will be quiet, but the day after will feature an on-mountain stocking scavenger hunt and Dawn Patrol skiing which is a unique early morning mountain experience with exclusive access to untouched corduroy or fresh powder.
December 29-31 will feature ski days with Olympic Gold Medalist, Johnny Moseley, complimentary fireside s'mores, a holiday dinner at High Camp and a guided moonlight snowshoe tour. New Year's Eve will conclude with fireworks over the Village.
Northstar
At the Northstar Village, activities will begin December 22 with nightly marshmallow roasting by the ice rink from 6:15 to 7 pm and family and ski movies at 7:15 and 9:15. December 22 will also be the village's 40th Anniversary Birthday Bash with Olympic snowboarder, Shaun White.
Children can meet with Santa at various locations around the Village each day from 12:00 to 2:30 pm and live music will also be available December 21, 23-24 from 2 to 5 pm Santa will also be on the slopes on Christmas Eve.
Other events include sleigh rides through the Village on December 21, 22 and 23, cooking decorating and ice skating at the 9,000 square foot skating rink. Candlelight and worship services will also be available at the top of the Vista Chair on December 23 and at the Village on Conference Room on December 24.
Heavenly
The Heavenly Village will turn into Santa's Workshop during the holidays. Children can walk into a 16-foot round snow globe to visit Santa and get their photo taken. Holiday music and carolers will also be filling the village streets.
The Heavenly Ice Rink will also be seeing some action with a nightly skating show. See a different show every night from December 28 through December 30. More ice will be available during the Heavenly Village ice sculpting show. Large ice sculptures will dot the village and turn the place into an winter wonderland.
The Heavenly New Year's Celebration will take place on December 31 from 6 to 9 pm and will include music by the LA Allstars, games, fireworks, fire performers, photo booths, face painting nd the world's only Gondola Ball Drop.
