Tartine Cookies + Cream Opens

The much-anticipated ice cream shop from the Tartine matriarch specializes in egg-free, gelato-style soft serve, using imported machines from Italy and buffalo milk Double-8 dairy. Opening flavors include chocolate, coffee, fior de latte, and an incredibly purple concord grape. There are also pies, ice cream sandwiches, and toppings to enjoy—all made in house. // Open daily, 11am-5pm, 595 Alabama St. (Mission), tartinemanufactory.com
Pal's Takeaway Opens in Forage Kitchen
The formerly Mission-based sandwich pop-up Pal's Takeaway is now opened in Forage Kitchen in Oakland. Owner and sandwich genius Jeff Mason will be slinging salads and sandwiches for the Uptown lunch crowd, including his delicious Aunt Malai's Almost Famous Lao Sausage sandwich with cucumber-cilnatro relish, house mayo and greens. Yum! // Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm, 478 25th St. (Oakland), palstakeaway.com
Aina Starts Dinner
The Dogpatch's modern Hawaiian eatery and newly dubbed Michelin Bib Gourmand Aina started dinner service earlier this week.
