Much to our dismay, there’s rarely news in the SF fashion scene that’s epic enough to garner international buzz, leaving us with baited breath for months of speculation. But such is the case with Levi’s, answering our sartorial prayers with their latest venture and the time has finally come to take a collective exhale and feast our eyes on the spring Levi’s by Opening Ceremony collection.
The first in an ongoing collaboration between the iconic SF-based denim giant and the forward-thinking NYC-based company founded by two UC-Berkeley grads, you can look forward to a refreshingly modern take on an American classic, corduroy.
Inspired by springtime road trips to the upstate New York countryside (though equally if not more appropriate for a NorCal adventure), Opening Ceremony co-owners Huberto Leon and Carol Lim chose to work with Levi’s ultra-soft corduroy in a myriad of colors for their (almost) unisex collection, which consists of a slim button-down, trucker jackets with silhouettes for ladies and gents, cut-off shorts and a 1980s slim-fit 505 pant.
In short, absolutely perfect year-round layering pieces for all of San Francisco's pretty young things.
And as if our hearts weren’t already completely aflutter, for a limited time the first floor of Levi’s flagship store will be transformed into shop-in-shop Opening Ceremony, featuring the Levi’s by O.C. pieces alongside select staples from Opening Ceremony’s collection. Yes that’s right, we’re going to have a mini Opening Ceremony in Union Square.
So now’s the time you’ll probably want to cancel any and all plans you had tomorrow and hit the ground running.
